Fancy a great weekend riding the fabulous, twisty biking roads of Wales with its breathtaking scenery with no shortage of interesting places to visit? It is intended to organise a 2 night, social weekend motorcycle tour to Mid Wales, based in Llandrindod Wells, Powys, within a short distance of the awesome Brecon Beacons National Park to the south and beautiful Snowdonia National Park to the north.

Mid Wales Social Ride Out Weekend


This is a social mini tour aimed at welcoming new group members through a weekend of great riding and a stay at a great hotel in mid-Wales.  The tour is open to all however, Associates must be cleared by their Observer to take part in Group ride outs. 

As it is a social weekend, pillions are welcomed. The tour is limited to 20 riders (plus pillions) hence bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis.

This is truly a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a great, value for money weekend away, riding some of the best biking roads in the UK whilst at the same meeting new members and making new friends within the Group. If you have never ridden the roads in Wales before, you are in for a treat.


Friday 20 October 17 to Sunday 22 October 17


Top of Town car park, Dorchester

Briefing and Departure:

Assemble ready for prompt 1400 departure.

Friday Day 1:

Depart at 14:00 and head out of Dorset via Blandford, Shaftesbury & Warminster to arrive Llandrindod Wells, Powys at 18:30.  165 miles.

Riders whose location is out of Dorchester (e.g. Blandford, Shaftesbury as well as Warminster) may join up with the tour at an agreed location en-route if preferred rather than assemble in Dorchester.


Weekend B&B Accommodation:

At the fantastic The Commodore Hotel, Llandrindod Wells, Powys.

Costs will be £65 per room per night based on 2 sharing (twin or double) or £65 per person per night based on single occupancy, including breakfast.

Account settlement: Each individual will be responsible for settling their individual Hotel Commodore account (to include B&B costs and any personal hotel expenses incurred) prior to departure on Sunday 22nd October.

Parking: Complimentary off-road parking

Evening dinner: Available at The Commodore Hotel if required.


Saturday Day 2:

The Commodore Hotel - depart 0900 for a circuit of some of Mid & North Wales's best biking routes. Daily mileage likely to be between 180 and 200 miles. Finalised routes for the day to be advised but will include comfort, refreshment, lunch and refuelling stops. Return ETA 1730 / 1800 approx.

If desired, pillions may choose to spend the day in Llandrindod, or enjoy a Spa treatment at the Commodore hotel.


Sunday Day 3:

09:00 Depart the Commodore Hotel following breakfast.  Route is through the Brecon Beacons National Park aiming to head out back towards Dorset after lunch.  ETA back in Dorchester of 1800.


A mix of A and B class roads (further route details provided on each day).  Total tour mileage in the region of 600 miles.

Booking: Closing date for bookings is noon on Monday 25 September and will be taken on a first come first served basis. Bookings should be made direct with Events@DWDAM.org.uk.

When booking a £25 per person non-refundable deposit will be required before acceptance of the booking is confirmed. Details of how the £25 should be paid will be separately advised to each individual when booking.
