IAM RoadSmart's Skill for Life Advanced Rider Course programme has been especially designed to help motorcyclists become more skilled, confident, smooth and safer riders. Motorcyclists are invited to attend a series of free advanced riding theory presentations to be held at the:

George Albert Hotel
Wardon Hill,
DT2 9PW.

They will take place on Wednesday 12th 19th & 26th April 2017 commencing at 7pm and last two hours each.

Each presentation will cover different elements of advanced riding techniques and are arranged by the Dorchester & West Dorset Advanced Motorcyclists (DWDAM) and supported by Dorset County Council (DCC) Road Safety. They will be presented by Doug Miners, an ex-police advanced driving & riding instructor who is also the

IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving/Riding Examiner for SW Dorset. Doug is now the Driver Training Officer for South West Ambulance Trust (SWAT) NHS. Highly experienced and qualified in advanced riding techniques, Doug's presentations are both informative and enjoyable.

Although no prior booking is necessary, these advanced rider theory sessions are highly popular so early attendance is recommended. Riders who attend the presentations will also have the opportunity to take the theory knowledge gained a step further by taking part in on road advanced riding sessions during a Bikers Skills Day scheduled to take place on May 2017 at Weymouth College. This event, also organised by DWDAM with the support of DCC Road Safety, is open to all bikers.
