Third Lecture by Doug Miners

The third of Doug Miners lectures on Advanced Motorcycling Techniques was attended by nearly seventy bikers from Dorset and surrounding counties.   There were also a number  of DWDAM members, both associates and full members wishing to refresh their knowledge were there.   So impressed were some that four joined up on the first night for the Skill For Life IAM programme and by end of this third lecture many more had joined.  We can glean a lot from Doug's excellent lectures but it's ony by putting it into practice under the guidance of an observer that real changes to riding habits are made.

Full members also have the opportunity to identify bad habits that have crept back into their riding by requesting a ride with Jim Hill, DWDAM's Chief Observer.  Perhaps now is the time to do it prior to summer riding now that the sun has come out at last !

A raffle was being held each evening to cover the costs involved in running the lectures and to go towards training observers.   Many thanks to our local dealers who have so generously donated prizes for the raffle, some of whom offer a 10% discount to DWDAM members, so always make it be known you are a member.  (Oxford Road, Yeovil, BA21 5HR)  (Great Western Ind Centre, Dorchester, DT1 1RD)  (Johns Road, Wareham, BH20 4BG)  (The Ellipse, West Bay, DT6 4CZ)  (Sherbourne Road, Yeovil, BA21 5 BB)  (Alington Avenue, Dorchester, DT1 1QB)  (Barrack Road, Christchurd, BH23 2AR)  (Old  Barn Farm Road, Wimborne, BH21 6SP)  (Frederick Place, Weymouth DT4 8HQ)
