Five bikes with one pillion arrived at the Top of Town car park tonight, which was great considering the weather forecast!
Departed on time and had a good ride down to the Dolphin pub with parking easily found behind. Great food.
Kelvin and two Associates joined us at the pub having left Top of Town after us, increasing the ride out to seven, even better considering the weather forecast, which was unfortunately correct and on leaving the pub at 8:20 the rain had started.
This and the gathering gloom hampered the ride back as not all the riders had the best of headlights.
So we missed the planned Weymouth Carnival fireworks, seeing them start as we approached Portesham through the rain.
86 miles round trip on testing roads and particularly testing conditions on the way back.
Hoping Dave Plowman has dried out for the next as he overlooked the forecast, turned up without waterproofs and had the longest ride back home - that's dedication!!
Sunday Ride Out - Portland Crab Sandwiches
An enjoyable ride out which passed through some lovely villages, beautiful scenery and best of all, lots of new routes for some on the ride. The brilliant weather made up for the disappointment of missing out on a crab sandwich lunch.
