With spring around the corner, many motorcyclists will be keen to dust off the cobwebs and get that bike out of the garage.
If you’re feeling a bit rusty after the winter, why not brush up on your skills at a some free bike events.
Dorset County Council’s road safety team have teamed up with Dorchester and West Dorset Advanced Motorcyclists (DWDAM) to offer another free talks and ride outs to help bikers brush-up and improve their technique.
Sunday 26 March – Swanage - Harmans Cross Village Hall.
Sunday 9 April – Safewise Centre, Weymouth
Sunday 11 June – Stalbridge Community Hall.
All sessions will start at 8.30 am and finish at 1pm.
Potentially life-saving advice will be on offer from advanced motorcycle instructors who will also provide feedback to improve their road riding skills, and get more enjoyment out of riding their motorbike.
Cllr Peter Finney. The county council’s Cabinet member for environment, said:
“This will be a fun morning of like-minded people enjoying their machines. It’s about refreshing skills and having a good time, but with a serious message too.
“All bikers are welcome to join but booking is essential to secure a place.”
Emma Selway, Dorset County Council road safety officer, said:
“This is an opportunity for motorcyclists to receive some bespoke training from qualified instructors and met with other bikers.
“Anyone interested should book their place as soon as possible as spaces are limited.
“All you need to take part in the ride-out is a full licence, and a bike classed 250cc or over that is taxed, insured and has a current MOT certificate if applicable.”
